Several years ago, I had a free blood pressure check at  a local drug store. After the pharmacist was called in to check the results the nurse got (170/120), I was told by both that I should be dead and should seek medical help immediately. Since I had previously experienced a severe  nosebleed (that probably saved my life because the blood came out my nose instead of having a cerebral hemorrhage); I decided it was about time I take their advice. I had rheumatic fever as a child and knew I had medical problems, but like so many others, kept putting it off. So, in 1984, I started seeing a doctor for my severe hypertension. It took a while to find the correct medication for my condition, but over the years, my condition really never got much better with only medication. We had found the medication best for me, but my hypertension hardly stabilized considering my behavioral patterns (extremely bad temper). I eventually found a doctor who put me on a very mild  tranquilizer to try to calm me down; which help stop the shaking inside, but nothing else dramatic. Fortunately, after considering my behavioral patterns, he had the good sense to send me to a biofeedback center at a local hospital.

I started biofeedback therapy in February of this year. My doctor diagnosed me as having severe hypertension, with a AAA personality. After a brain scan was taken, my entire brain appeared green, my alpha & beta waves were way off and I was told I never went into the third and fourth stages of sleep. I've spent several sessions talking with my doctor, several hooked up to a machine to stimulate my alpha waves and my personal favorite, the dry tank; water bed, quadraphonic stereo and a TV for videos. My doctor chose hypnosis tapes with subliminal suggestions and messages flashing on the video screen for my subconscious mind to pick up. The tapes worked - not immediately - but  months later my doctor and I saw the results slowly emerge. The alpha stimulating machine in the office and the dry tank always left me calm, relaxed and confident I could achieve the results I wanted. However, after a disturbing day at work or home, I was left to try to calm myself down with audio tapes, which helped, but can't be compared to the results I get with the Alpha-Stim CS. I've even had my wife try them after 'one of those days' and they helped her tremendously. She's had biofeedback therapy in the past, also, but she went for stress.

I've recently had another brain scan to check my progress. My alpha & beta waves are perfect and half my brain was blue. All this  after only 5 months of therapy. I've come a long way, but I also know I've got a long way to go. And with the help of the Alpha-Stim CS for home and all the other office therapy, I know I can once again be calm, relaxed and reduce  my blood pressure, which averages 130/70 lately. I feel lucky to have received the Alpha-Stim CS and know that with its help my blood pressure will continue to decrease and my behavioral patterns become even calmer. My wife and I thank you for developing this valuable tool.

Sincerely,
Richard Derringer
