24 June, 1991 For the past seven years I have suffered from severe migraine headaches. These migraines were debilitating, occurring up to four times a week. Often, the only thing that alleviated the pain, nausea, and vomiting were injections of Demerol administered by a doctor. Last year I also began to have chronic upper back and cervical pain. I was seeing a chiropractor quite frequently. The pain usually reappeared with in two days after the adjustment but I was thankful for any temporary relief. I thought that possibly my migraines and back and neck pain might somehow be related. I went to eight different doctors hoping to find a cause. I saw three chiropractors, two physical therapists, a rheumatologist, an orthopedic spinal specialist, and a doctor who specialized in migraine pain. There was no organic cause for my migraines. The migraine specialist believed my migraines and back pain were due to stress. I was given a diagnosis of migraine and myofacial pain. I was prescribed Elavil for my migraines and told to see someone who could work with me in biofeedback. I found someone I felt comfortable working with and began treatment right away. About this same time I read an article in East West Magazine on the Alpha-Stim CS unit. I asked the psychologist who I was seeing for biofeedback about this machine. He said he had one that I could use at home while I was seeing him weekly for biofeedback. After weeks of using the Alpha-Stim I decided to purchase one. I know the medication helped in diminishing the frequency and intensity of my migraines. I also know that the biofeedback training and the Alpha-Stim unit were also vital in my improvement. The Alpha-Stim is truly an amazing product. Not only does it alleviate the intensity of my migraines, but quite often it takes the migraine away completely. It also helped with my neck and back pain by relieving tension and stress. I now no longer have the pain in my neck and back. When I feel tension building up and my muscles starting to cause problems in my back and neck, I use my Alpha-Stim unit. Within an hour I feel much better. My muscles are relaxed and the pain rarely progresses past the beginning stages. I no longer live in constant fear of getting a migraine. I no longer need a shot of Demerol to relieve the excruciating pain from the migraine, which also wiped me out the following day. I now know that I can either abort the migraine completely or at least reduce the pain substantially, allowing me to carry on with my day's activities. I only wish I discovered the Alpha-Stim unit sooner. I could have saved thousands of dollars spent on doctors. Thank you for a wonderful product. Sincerely, |
