Richard A. Floyd is a seasoned marketing/ management executive. Utilizing human relations and leadership skills, strategic planning and a fluency in Japanese he has successfully managed businesses in the United States and Asia while living in Hong Kong and Japan.

Mr. Floyd joined Electromedical Products International, Inc. in 1993 where he assumed responsibility for developing offshore markets along with marketing programs for durable medical equipment (DME) distributors, health care professionals, and patients worldwide. He has developed the company’s extensive distributor support programs pricing and policy along with EPI’s new multilingual web site (which you are now viewing).

Mr. Floyd teaches International Marketing, Public Relations, eBussiness and other business courses as practitioner faculty with the University of Phoenix Online.

From 1990 to 1992 he served as President of Nihon Redken K.K. in Tokyo.  There he was responsible for general management of the Japanese subsidiary of this major professional beauty product manufacturer, including new product development, marketing, and building relationships with key dealers and salons. As President, he had complete responsibility for the company's finance, operations, and performance.

Mr. Floyd was Senior Vice President of Mattel, Inc. of Hawthorne, California for the Asia/Pacific region from 1988 to 1989. At Mattel he was responsible for marketing and sales of their toy product lines throughout the Asia/Pacific region. This included licensees in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines, distributors in Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Indonesia, subsidiaries in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, and a joint venture in India.

From 1986 to 1988 Mr. Floyd was President of Lasting Endearments of Costa Mesa, California, a high-end collectable dolls manufacturer.

From 1980 to 1986 he was Director of Marketing and Far East Operations for R. Dakin & Company, a plush toy and gift company of San Francisco. Mr. Floyd held full responsibility for all operations in Japan and Korea, a joint venture in the Philippines, and sourcing in Taiwan and China.

From 1976 to 1980 Mr. Floyd was Manager, International Division of Armor All Products, a division of Foremost-McKesson, Inc., in Irvine, California where he was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing through distributors and licensees.

Mr. Floyd earned a BA (with Distinction) in East Asian Studies and Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1974, and a  Master of International Management (with Honors) from the American Graduate School of Management (Thunderbird) in Glendale, Arizona in 1975.

He is a member of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine. He is interested in Asian martial arts and has instructed traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate-do and Wu style Tai Chi Chuan. He is currently studying Yoga.
